Michael Beck
With a passion for adventure and the outdoors, most of Michael Beck's life has been devoted to pursuing his love of extreme sports. He is a qualified whitewater instructor and has spent many years exploring Australia's wild, remote rivers. His love of photography and writing led him to have some of these exploits published. He has represented his country in Inline Hockey, is an expert skier and has a bachelor of education degree.
Ever since he left home at 18 to travel around Australia with nothing but $200 and thirty cans of spaghetti in the trunk of his old HR Holden, Michael has done things slightly different. He worked in a litany of odd jobs such as bridge builder, chicken catcher, circus hand and bartender, all of which have provided fodder for his creative mind. Since he was a child he has been an omnivorous reader and always dreamt of writing a novel, but could never sit still long enough to make it happen.
Having seven children in eleven years along the way didn't help. Working full time whilst raising six boys and one girl is a story in itself. But, somehow, between the bedtime bedlam and birthday parties he completed his first novel. Miracles do happen. Pump Fake is his third novel after Shifter and Killpoint.
Michael Beck resides in Victoria, Australia, with his wife and tribe.
